About

Sustainable ideas,
positively charged

‘Zeff’ is the force that pulls electrons towards the nucleus — the measure of positive charge. By closing the loop between use and waste, we aim to be a force of positive change in the world. We’re working tirelessly to make our product – and your recycling process – as economical and low-impact as it can be.

History

Putting plastic in its place

In 2010, we had a simple idea: to produce and sell the world’s first recycling bin made out of 100% post-consumer plastic. Today, our Ubin and Ubin mini are the recycling bins of choice for hundreds of offices in the UK and Europe. With a widening international base and new products in the works, we’re looking ahead to a future of eco-friendly innovation.

Together we’re reaching new heights

Premises

We practise what we preach

How can we ask other businesses to change their behaviour if we haven’t changed our own? 85% of our electrical energy comes from the Avonmouth wind and solar park. And we work from an award-winning eco office park called Filwood Green, which has a number of environmentally-positive features. Photovoltaic panels spanning most of the roof provide home grown green power, while electric vehicle charging, secure cycle storage and showers make sustainable commuting a breeze. The ecology is buzzing too, thanks to the sedum green roof and wildlife ecology areas. It’s no wonder it is certified BREEAM outstanding.

Helping you choose a greener future

Sustainable materials

Our bins are made of 100% post-consumer recycled plastic, with some post-industrial recycled elements.

Minimal carbon footprint

It’s not just what we’re made of – we also keep our footprint low by producing our bins within the UK.

Lifecycle responsibility

Our responsibility doesn’t end when a bin is bought. We evaluate the full lifecycle impact of every component – and all of our bins are fully recyclable.
